Michigan Dance Heritage
Fall Dance Weekend #23

September 18 to 20, 2009

A weekend of good friends, delightful dancing, merry music, and sweet song at Camp Cavell on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron near Lexington, Michigan.


Featured Staff

Celticladda. Randy Miller has a lovely pure traditional fiddle style. Bill Thomas (flute and uillean pipes) and Gordon Peery (piano) joing with Randy to provide this New England-based band that provides exciting, northing style dance music. Campers will dance to tunes played with joy, skill and incredible drive.

Dan Pearl. Dan has been calling dances since 1979. He calls Boston home, where he runs the Thursday night dance for NEFFA (New England Folk Festival Association). Dan has appeared on the staff at Pinewoods, and is a popular caller at dance weekends from coast to coast. This is a return engagement with MDH Fall Camp for Dan, and we're thrilled he's back!

Cathy Stephens. Cathy known for her crisp, clear teaching technique. she is back by popular demand, teaching couples and vintage dancing and hosting the enchanting Cathy's Lounge.

Jan Pettibone. Jan will be leading workshops in couple and circle Israeli dance. She has taught Israeli dance for many years and has led workshops for numerous dance weekends in Ohio. She hails from Columbus and is an active international folk dancer and instructor.


Location

Camp Cavell is on the shore of Lake Huron, 30 miles north of Port Huron. There are two wooden dance floors. Cabins for 8 to 10 people are available as women-only, men-only, and coed. They are heated and most include bathrooms. Tent and vehicle sites are also available.
